What are you doing, as a youth worker, to facilitate growth in your leadership ability?

This is a very important question to answer for each minister. At times when we achieve higher than average, in anything that we do, we can feel like we have “arrived.” Once this happens we will feel accomplished and somewhat superior to the rest of the people we are serving. However, it is important to realize that regardless of our position, we should always be students. Remember that “keeping the pulpit fresh” is part of our call. To keep the pulpit fresh we must continually be growing spiritually and mentally.
It was once said that the man who stops learning is the man who stops living. One should continually be reading books that will enhance his ministry and knowledge, subscribe to magazines and blogs (Group Magazine, InsideOut, Jonathan’s Blog, etc) that will have ideas that can benefit your presentation, and enroll in classes and attending seminars and webinars that will increase your ability to serve a large variety of needs, and help you manage individuals, organizations, and finances better. This is a small portion of things you can do to enhance yourself mentally. Don’t ever stop learning!
